... ciao:

: on "1-13-2015" "Marc Bejarano" writ:
:
: every retail wireless router i've come across defaults to bridging the
: LAN and Wi-Fi "segments".

and every 'cigarette' manafacturer failed to "MENTION" the health
risks associated with using their products. untill "forced" to do so.
it is i think, foolhardy, to treat wifi as anthing other than, "HOSTILE"
territory. the fantasy that hardware makers appreciate 'security', dims
when tales of 'netgear' are retold.

: i see the con to having two separate subnets for LAN and Private Wi-Fi
: as needlessly complicating

the complication, is in your understanding of "LAN" and
"Private Wi-Fi". Private Wi-Fi ""DOES NOT EXIST"". "LAN" is actually
the private segment. i have little confidence you appreciate the
security implications, that suggests. basically, you're tripping over
your ignorance.

for instance, suggesting a developer 'complicating' something,
might instead better be a 'questiion' "why". at this stage, assuming you
know what your're talking about, premature. you can fix that ...
