[HTTPS-Everywhere] Using the search bar in Firefox

If you type a search into the built in browser search bar and have https
everywhere enabled, does that request go out over http or https? (Google,
Wikipedia, etc)

I read a bit on
https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Strict_Transport_Security and
see that it is supposed to change to https before contacting the server. I
still wondered though if it is the same for the search providers as it works
for entering a url on the url bar.
