Hi lovely people,

Thanks for your support as we launched last Wednesday! The Security
Education Companion is a huge effort, and we couldn't have done it
without your thoughtfulness. Thank you for the many conversations that
helped us to get to this point.

A reminder: If your name isn't listed on sec.eff.org/credits and you'd
like it to be, let me know! I have not added anyone's name unless they
explicitly consented to this point.

*I wanted to update everyone on a few things:*

+ I added the excellent Estrella Soria to this group!

+ I'm still sorting through the feedback you provided, and figuring out
a way to organize and share it back with my motley team so we can act on
these suggestions. Thank you so, so much for your pointed comments! I'd
like to give a heads up that it'll take us a while to make these
changes—we're a little exhausted post-launch :)

+ We're slowly publishing the remaining pieces from the Security
Education 101 Articles PDF that I sent earlier in the month. The plan is
to publish 1-2 pieces per week for the next few months. Some titles you
can expect for the future: Your First Training, Why Your Audience Should
Care, Fear is the Mind Killer: Rethinking Demos, Techie Power! And How
It Can Get In the Way, etc.

+ Here are some more things to expect for the future:

+ New things to look out for in the future!

Tor Browser lesson plan, introduction to encryption lesson plan,
PGP lesson plan. These have been months in the making, and it's
taking a while to get them right.

We will also be publishing a /lot/ more graphics. I have a huge
list that I'm working through, such as a demo gif of what's
visible in OTR vs Google Hangouts, what's visible in HTTP vs
HTTPS, and so on. On this note, if there are any graphics that
you feel will be a helpful teaching aid in your own contexts,
        please reach out to me!

    + Updates on existing things!

For easier accessibility: I'm working on configuring our PDFs to
be more accessible for users with disabilities. If anyone has
experience with this and other accessibility & graphical
        considerations, please let me know!

For easier localization: I'm working on making textless versions
of our existing gifs, so that people can add in their own text
        more easily.

    + Website things!

My wonderful web development colleagues are making the site more
beautiful, accessible and usable. One feature I'm excited about
is a lesson planner tool — I'll let you know when this is in the
        works.

Thank you, and please feel free to reach out to me if you have
questions, concerns, positive vibes, things we should consider, etc.

Happy holidays,

Soraya
