We now have the data from our December 2010 scan online. It is available in
three forms:

1. MySQL database dump via BitTorrent

   https://www.eff.org/files/observatory-dec-2010.sql.lzma.torrent

2. Raw server responses (from which certs can be extracted) over BitTorrent

   https://www.eff.org/files/dec_2010_server_responses.tar.lzma.torrent

3. An Amazon EC2 EBS image. This is intended to address the problems that a
number of people had reported about the BitTorrent download being tricky or
the resulting datasets being too large for practical analysis on most
people's machines. EC2 lets you work with the data on very fast machines
   for a reasonable hourly rate.

I'll post some instructions on how to work with this in a moment.

Note that this scan only covered IPs that were listening on port 443 during
our August 2010, so it should be regarded as a large but not complete set of
HTTPS servers.
