Firefox Sync doesn't even synchronize the extension's installation since 
it's not carried on the standard extension site, although there's an 
about:config flag for this.

I was hoping to avoid doing it manually at the filesystem level 
(although that is what I'm currently doing), hence my request for a 
supported way to sync.

More importantly, this only synchronizes custom rules, but not settings, 
so when I find a site that's broken (Microsoft's Technet articles and 
discussion forums, for example), I have to remember to reconfigure it 
multiple times on different machines.
