It hopefully fixes some of the obscure crash bugs reported at
https://trac.torproject.org/projects/tor/report/19
We don't yet have fixes for the leaks that Seth found.  Mike is working on
that.

If there are no complaints about this snapshot I'll offer it as an auto-update
to people in the development branch sometime in the next few days.
