Merged, although there were two problems:

Note that you can use Wolfram Alpha to get a list of (some) subdomains for a
given domain, and you should definitely do so before writing a ruleset that
sends all subdomains to https.

If you are going to write such a ruleset, it will need a <target
host="*.example.com" /> element.
