[DC-Trade] EFF's withdrawal from international trade work

This is to let everyone know that EFF's management team have decided
that EFF is to withdraw from some of the work that we had been doing on
trade, which includes my role in theĀ  IGF Dynamic Coalition on Trade and
the Internet, and in its sister Open Digital Trade Network, as well as
engagement with UNCTAD, the WTO, the WEF, and advocacy around TISA and
RCEP. We are about to send an April trade newsletter, but it may be the
last unless a new editor can be found.

I will still be working on NAFTA and TPP and will remain a member of the
Dynamic Coalition/Open Digital Trade Network, but won't be leading them
or attending IGF in my capacity as EFF staff. The opendigital.trade
website has been taken down, and the resources that the Dynamic
Coalition produced in 2017 have been moved to a new permanent home on
the IGF website here:
https://www.intgovforum.org/multilingual/content/dynamic-coalition-on-trade.
For now, the mailing lists are remaining where they are.

Since this was always a collective endeavour, the future of the Dynamic
Coalition/Open Digital Trade Network remains positive, provided that
there are others who are willing to pick up some of the loose ends. I am
able to transfer the opendigital.trade domain to new ownership if anyone
wishes to take it up. If you are interested, please contact me on or off
list.
