[CSS-research] Network downgrade attacks

Hi everyone,

I'm with [Eye on Surveillance](https://eyeonsurveillance.org) in New Orleans and hoping to revive this thread a bit. One of our members has started working on an [app](https://github.com/ayyubibrahimi/protocol-detection) to detect when a user's phone downgrades from encrypted protocols, down to 2G, etc.

Is anyone aware of other CSS detection projects that use this approach? What do yall think about it? Does anyone have capacity to give some technical guidance?
