From soraya at eff.org Wed Jan 2 13:06:34 2019 From: soraya at eff.org (Soraya Okuda) Date: Wed, 2 Jan 2019 13:06:34 -0800 Subject: [Companion-announce] feedback on HTTPS Everywhere? Message-ID: <6B9485BA-00D8-4980-92FB-CA6BBF7DA257@eff.org> Hi good people! I have a few minor updates and a big ask. Tiny update: We’re still working through some changes, such as language reworking for SEC to address concerns around “threat modeling”, as well as a lesson plan around VPNs. I hope to include all those changes on the site by the end of the month—it’s taken a bit longer than anticipated. Larger update: I’m joining Simply Secure’s design residency for next week to improve HTTPS Everywhere’s usability. (Say hi if you’re in Berlin!) **My ask: If you have time to spend a moment to share your thoughts, I’d be grateful!** + If you’ve helped beginners / non-technical folks with downloading HTTPS Everywhere, what was your experience? What did they struggle with? What did they misunderstand? What were their mental models around the tool? + Do you have any dreams for improving HTTPS Everywhere and making it easier to use? What would be a “win” from your perspective? Is there anything that frustrates you as a user of the tool? + If you have a moment to evaluate a set of infographics I’m working on, I’ve attached a draft (description included in the doc–note that they aren’t legal or tech reviewed and are just drafts). The intended audience is trainers and beginner users—I’d like to make it easy for others to remix and localize these infographics, so I’m trying to limit how much English is included in the image itself. I would be grateful if you have capacity to run them by someone you’re teaching, and let me know how it goes. Even rough thoughts would be helpful. Is this something you can use? Hope you all are having a wonderful start to your year! Soraya -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
